Vision of the Department

To develop the communication skills of the students enabling them to be Confident, Conversant and Competent.

Mission of the Department

To involve students to learn the skills of communication by exposing them to Conversation, Group Discussion, Role Play and Paper Presentation through CALL (Computer Aided Language Learning).

Langugae Lab

The department of English has got a conventional language lab with 32 booths. It has a teacher’s Console to monitor and control the students. There is a 29” inch TV, VCR and an Aiwa audio player.
The lab has got video cassettes from the British Council collection viz. i)Teaching Observed ii) Follow Me – series. The Lab also has audio cassettes for TOEFL and to improve the pronounciation ‘Linguaphone’ cassettes are available.

British Council – BEC Exam (Member Institution)

Our college is a member institution recognized by the British Council to train students in BEC (Business English Certificate) and the same has been acknowledged by printing the name of our college in the brochure of British Council.
The students have been trained to appear for the BEC exam and everyone who has passed the BEC exam from our college has been placed in MNCs.

Computer Aided Language Learning Lab

There is a Multimedia enabled CALL (Computer Aided Language Learning) Lab available in the department which caters to the needs of students to improve their Listening skill, Reading comprehension, Pronunciation and their performance in Paper Presentation.
The number of users is 66 and it has got a server from where students can be guided and controlled. It has got two module viz. English Lab and Career Lab.
