| Department Profile |
Our Department was established in the year 1998 with the intake of 40 students and it was increased into 60 in the year 1999and in the year 2005, the intake was increased into 120 students. Our Department equips the students in the field of Electronics, Communication and Computer Engineering with equal importance. Our department boasts by devoted staff and they work hard to bring out competent, disciplined and superlative quality Engineers to fulfill the expectation of the society. Moreover Our Department intends to prepare engineers in the state of the art technologies of Electronic Engineering, Digital Communication and Computer Technologies. Our Department presents conducive learning atmosphere which ensures better interaction between students and staff through counseling. |

| Co-Curricular Activities |
| We have a technical association called LANCET (Lawn for the Associates of Nippy Communication & Electronics Technology) through which the students are encouraged and motivated to get involvement in group discussion, paper presentation, Project demonstration and quiz competition. Seminars by eminent persons from Industries and Educational Institutes have been arranged to make the students to update them for the latest development in the electronic field. |

| Industrial Visits |
| We organize Industrial visits and Educational Tours in every year for the students in order to learn current practices which is going on in the industrial area. Our students have visited ISRO launching center Sriharikotta, ISRO Satellite Center, Bangalore, Master Control Facility (ISRO), Hassan, and ISRO, Thiruvananthapuram. |

| In Plant Training |
| Our placement cell has taken high efforts for arranging Inplant Training to all students of our department in various reputed organizations. Our students have undergone Inplant Training in Doordharshan, RGM-TTC, BSNL, All India Radio, PEENA Electricity, Pandian System and Solution, CRISP, Railnet Software Solution. |

| Staff of our Department are rightly encouraged to participate in various Seminars, Workshops and Conferences to enrich their knowledge. Most of the faculties of our department are the life members of IETE and Annual member of IEEE. |

| Symposium / Workshop |
ECE Department conducts National level Technical Symposium every year in the name of ERAZZLES
This Symposium is conducted every year to motivate the students to enhance their technical skills, to develop their leadership quality and to promote their communication skills through the events such as Paper Presentations, Project Presentations, Quiz Programme and Circuit Debugging. Intra-department multimedia presentation is also conducted.
In the year 2011-2012, A National level Technical Symposium Erazzles’12 was conducted on 10-03-2012. Dr. R. SUKANESH, Ph.D., Professor/ECE, Thiagarajar College of Engg. Madurai was the chief guest of the Inaugural function. Mr. CHELLADURAI ABDULLAH Treasurer, Syed Ammal Trust was the chief guest of the valedictory function and he distributed the prizes to the winners.
Students from various Engineering colleges were encouraged to present the papers and projects in the following topics. |
