To accomplish the welfare of society through excellence in teaching, research and skills that exploits the rapidly changing technical diversity of mechanical engineering with a collaborative environment that stimulates staff and students to reach their highest potential through life-long learning.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)
  • PEO 1: Graduates shall have successful careers as Mechanical Engineers with fundamental and advanced knowledge in Mechanical and allied engineering.
  • PEO 2: Graduates shall be professional in engineering practice to comprehend, analyse, design and create unique solutions for real life and societal problems.
  • PEO 3: Graduates shall have ethical behavior, communication skills and multi-disciplinary team work to pursue innovative research by engaging in lifelong learning

The Programme Specific Outcomes of the Mechanical Engineering are

  • PO1 Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of science and engineering in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
  • PO2 Problem analysis: Analyze complex engineering problems and interpret data.
  • PO3 Design/development of solutions: Design a mechanical system and to meet the specified needs.
  • PO4 Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research based knowledge and innovative methods in analysis, and interpretation of information to make valid engineering decisions.
  • PO5 Modern tool usage: Demonstrate skills to create, select, and use modern engineering tools and softwares to analyze complex engineering solutions with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO6 The engineer and society: Assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural impact of the Engineering knowledge on the individuals, organizations and society from contextual education.
  • PO7 Environment and sustainability: Create awareness on contemporary issues of sustainable mechanical systems from environmental and global perspective.
